Changing Consciousness and Building Markets

In response to growing concerns about the industry’s significant carbon footprint and thereby its contribution to climate change, a notable shift towards ‘sustainability’ of building materials and energy sources has emerged in the past few decades. This transition towards sustainability within the industry is propelled by an interplay of research and development, shifting consumer demand towards eco-friendly solutions and a growing supply chain of innovative materials and technologies. But despite this transition, the shift is not yet complete, largely due to various challenges. Balancing Sustainability with affordability remains a delicate task as the industry adapts to new demands for greener solutions. In this session we will discuss the change in the industry with respect to sustainability and how the availability and demand for these new materials is affecting the building market.
