GRIHA
Evaluators and Trainers
Programme conducted in 2014
GRIHA organizes three-day intensive “GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment)”
training programme for evaluators and trainers across the country to give a detailed understanding
of green buildings designed as per GRIHA norms and identify evaluators and trainers for facilitating
and promoting construction of green buildings. This pool of qualified and dedicated professionals is a
resource pool for GRIHA for evaluation of registered projects and a medium to expand and take GRIHA to
all parts of the country.
The programme focuses on sustainable site planning, water and waste water management, building
design optimization, energy performance optimization, renewable energy utilization, solid waste
management, sustainable building material and construction technology, health, well-being and
environmental quality. The three-day programme is divided into 12 sessions including the GRIHA and
SVA GRIHA website demonstration; it closes with GRIHA Evaluator and Trainer qualifying exams.
In previous year, we conducted around eight training programmes and all of them were well received
and appreciated by the audiences from the building fraternity. GRIHA is honoured to register that our
evaluators and trainers have contributed positively to build better habitats in their respective zones and
are at all levels, i.e., from policy making to implementation thus actively supporting the mission.
