The environment-friendly green building concept in Dubai will receive a major boost with the establishment of a specialised laboratory. Materials and products being used in green buildings in Dubai will now come under strict quality analysis and lab tests at the specialised laboratory set up by the Dubai Central Laboratory. Dubai Municipality said the Engineering Materials Laboratory Section of Dubai Central Laboratory established the new lab to facilitate the application of the requirements and specifications of green buildings expected to be issued soon. The laboratory had prepared a guide including an inventory of all green building materials and products, and the names and addresses of suppliers and manufacturers of these materials.
