GRIHA GEV MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between GRIHA Council and Govardhan Eco Village on December 10, 2021 in the presence of Shri Bhupender Yadav, Honourable Minister, of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; and Labor and Employment during 'The GRIHA Event, 2021' at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Shri Gauranga Das, Director, Govardhan Eco Village and Mr. Sanjay Seth, Chief Executive Officer, GRIHA Council signed the MoU on behalf of both the organizations. This collaboration aims at evaluating and rating the future developments of Govardhan Eco Village on sustainability parameters and co-develop training and capacity building programmes for the youth globally.

Govardhan Eco Village (GEV) is a model community in India implementing various green initiatives in its campus at Palghar, India and is working with the neighboring indigenous village groups in realizing their sustainable development efforts. GEV is accredited to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and also to UN Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) and UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and has received various national and international awards. GEV is running initiatives in the area of Rural Development wherein it is facilitating 360 degree services to the villages by training and facilitating them livelihood through organic farming, women empowerment, skill development for tribal youths, water resource development for drinking and irrigation, rural education, microenterprises for landless farmers and health care.
