The GRIHA Trophy architectural design competition that was launched last year was conducted successfully once again this year with the support of Lotus Greens on January 27- 28, 2015 at the 57th Annual NASA Convention in Chennai. Considering the recent growth in the residential real estate and the increasing inclination of the developers to get a GRIHA rating, the Trophy brief required the students to design a sustainable housing complex at a given location in Noida. A total of 35 colleges from all over India submitted their entries for the competition. Out of these, 12 entries were shortlisted for the audio visual round. The panel of the jury included the famous architect Mr Krishnarao Jaisim, Dr Ranee Vedamuthu, HOD Architecture, Anna University, Mr Gopal Krishnan, Director & Head - USGBC- Asia Pacific & Middle East, Ms Mili Majumdar , Director TERI and Secretary cum Treasurer, GRIHA Council, and Mr Ashwani Singh, Senior General Manager, Strategy, Lotus Greens.

The design entry of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was declared the winner, followed by the first runner up Gateway College of Architecture, Sonipat and second runner up AMS Academy of Architecture, Chennai. The design by NIT Calicut was recommended for a special mention by the jury. All these four institutions will be presenting their entries at the GRIHA Summit on March 13, 2015 at the parallel track for NASA.
